The people behind the mission
A retired Police Commander and a licensed advisor — united by one belief: first responder families deserve better than what the system gives them.
After two decades protecting the City of Miami Gardens, Commander Schaefer saw the same thing over and over — the officers, firefighters, and paramedics he worked alongside were quietly losing hundreds of dollars every month just to cover their families. Nobody in the insurance world was speaking their language. Nobody was fighting for them.
So he built the company that would. Joseph co-founded Frontline Family Coverage with one mission: make sure the people who protect everyone else are never financially penalized for protecting their own.
Cris didn't find his way into insurance by accident. A close family member faced serious long-term health issues, and going through that process up close made one thing impossible to ignore: the right health plan doesn't just save you money — it determines whether your family is protected when life goes sideways. The wrong one can be devastating.
That experience has never left him. Since earning his license in 2017, Cris has built his career around a simple belief — navigating your health coverage shouldn't require a law degree. It should feel like getting straightforward advice from someone who genuinely has your back. That belief is what brought him to co-found Frontline Family Coverage alongside Joseph, and it drives every conversation he has with a first responder family today.
