Parents & siblings

Family doesn't stop
at your household.

A parent between jobs. A sibling who's self-employed. The people you'd help without being asked, who never appear on a benefits form anywhere.

Who this is for

The people you'd
answer the phone for.

Frontline works with the wider families of first responders — parents, in-laws, brothers, sisters, adult children and relatives who are trying to work out coverage on their own.

They don't need to be on your plan or in your house. They get their own conversation with a licensed advisor, and the same commitment that nobody is pushed into anything.

Common situations

When people call
about a relative.

Between jobs

A loss of employer coverage is a qualifying life event, which opens an enrollment window. The window doesn't stay open long.

Self-employed

No group plan to fall back on. Individual coverage and subsidy eligibility depend on income and state, and both are worth checking properly.

Approaching 65

Medicare timing has its own rules and its own penalties for enrolling late. Starting the conversation early is the whole game.

A divorce or a death

Coverage that came through a spouse ends. There's usually a window to act, and it's the last thing anyone wants to think about at the time.

Moving states

Plans and networks are state-specific. A move can change what's available, what it costs, and which doctors participate.

Paying too much and unsure why

Sometimes there's nothing better available and the honest answer is to stay put. Knowing that is worth the conversation too.

Eligibility, plan availability, subsidies, pricing and provider networks vary by location, carrier and individual circumstances. Nothing here is a guarantee of eligibility or coverage.

How to start

Send them to us,
or sit in on the call.

Plenty of first responders join the conversation with a parent or sibling. That's completely fine — and often how the useful questions get asked.
